About
I was born in Rochester, NY to a family with very strong Spiritualist sympathies. In my family, Spiritualist beliefs and practices were, and still are, held alongside Italian folk catholic traditions. I grew up believing in mediums, seances, and the continuation of life after death in the form of spirits.
Older members in my family recognized that I had a potential for mediumship and a love of spiritual phenomena at an early age and I was encouraged to embrace these practices. My mother, with the advice of my uncle, gave me my first tarot deck at age eleven, and my aunt gave me my first books on divination and magical practices around the same time. As I got older family members and friends would ask me to read their fortune, interpret their dreams, or perform spiritual work for them. Through reputation and word of mouth, I eventually began to assist others outside of my family circle.
I work within a primarily Spiritualist and Spiritist framework, I’m a natural medium, lifelong Spiritualist, and practicing Espiritista of over a decade. I currently attend a local Spiritualist Church here in Rochester, where I serve as the congregation’s Historian.
FAQ:
When did you first realize your abilities as a medium?
I was very young when I started to see spirits, it's hard to even say a specific age. As long as I can remember really. I know that some people will develop their abilities after an important life event, or a deep spiritual awakening, but my abilities have just always sort of been there. It wasn't until I was a teenager that I started to actually work on developing my abilities as a medium and making use of my gift to actually help people.
Do you see spirits all the time?
no actually, and that seems to surprise some people. I can feel if there are spirits present trying to contact me, but I only see or hear them if I choose to do so. It's important to learn how to set boundaries when it comes to mediumship, being open to spirits all the time would be exhausting.
Where did you learn how to read cards?
when it comes to just the practical meanings of the cards and layouts, mostly books and workshops. I also have gotten many readings over the years from different readers and learned from observation. My main source of learning though are my spirit guides who assist me in really getting a clear understanding of what message the cards are supposed to say.
Are you initiated into any spiritual traditions?
short answer: no; long answer: several of the spiritual traditions I'm involved with don't actually have initiations. I've been an Espiritista for about a decade, and a Santa Muertero for slightly longer. I've been a Spiritualist most of my life, and currently attend a Spiritualist Church; I was also baptized into the Roman Catholic Church as a child. I also draw from training in African-American Rootwork, Mexican Brujeria, and Italian-American folk magic. While I'm not currently initiated into an ATR (Santeria, Palo, etc) I'm very familiar with those traditions and can point clients in the direction of qualified priests and priestesses in several of those traditions. I do actually have some personal involvement in Haitian Vodou, but I am not initiated nor do I perform work for my clients in that tradition.
